The topic of “while-drilling logging system development†undertaken by the LWD Logging Center of China Oil Logging Co., Ltd. and the “Keystone technology research on LWD system design and resistivity detection†topic passed the acceptance of the expert group.
These two projects were established in 2008 to improve the technical level and core competitiveness of logging while drilling. Researchers conducted a lot of in-depth explorations in terms of instrument principle design, prototype development, calibration methods, and well logging data processing and interpretation methods. After field tests of multiple horizontal wells and directional wells, qualified well logging data were obtained.
The company has developed logging-while-drilling systems that include directional telemetry, azimuthal gamma, centered gamma, sensing resistivity, electromagnetic wave resistivity, and controllable source neutron porosity, to form three-parameter formation evaluations. Drilling logging technology fills domestic gaps. The acceptance committee unanimously held that the evaluation of the LWD logging system in this formation is stable, the safety, environmental protection and measurement parameters are relatively complete, and its main technical indicators have reached the international advanced level.
