Consumer Report: Honda's new civic is failing

Gasgoo Motor Co., Ltd. Honda Automobile recently revamped the Civic compact car. The new model will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and is expected to be available in early 2012. The Consumer Reports stated that the Civic car has a long braking distance, an unstable driving sense, obvious road noise, and a low-cost vehicle interior.

According to David Champion, senior director of the Consumer Reports Automotive Testing Center, “Other models like the modern Elantra have made improvements after the change, but the Civic has changed to become the recommended model.”

In fact, for the past few years, the Honda Civic is one of the best-selling cars in the US market, along with the Toyota Corolla and Honda Accord.

The new Civic is no longer the model recommended by the Consumer Reports. The models that the magazine now favors are the Hyundai Elantra, Nissan Sentra, Subaru Imprez, Toyota Corolla, Kia Forte and Mazda3.
