How to use marine lifebuoy

The thrower holds the lifeline of the lifebuoy in one hand, and throws the lifebuoy in the downstream direction of the person falling into the water with the other hand. When there is no current and there is wind, it should be thrown upwind, so that the person falling can catch it. Tie the lifeline to the railing and throw the lifebuoy with both hands. The person who fell into the water first grasped the handle rope, and then pressed down the side of the life buoy with both hands at the same time to make the life buoy erected. The body floats in the water, and the thrower recovers the lifeline and pulls the fallen person to the side of the boat.

Basic requirements for lifebuoys

1. The life buoy is a ring-shaped floating body made of closed-cell foam plastic, which is seamed with canvas, painted with paint , and attached with a handle rope with a diameter of 10 mm, so that people who fall into the water can easily grasp.

2. The outer diameter of the life buoy is not more than 800mm, the inner diameter is not less than 400mm, and the mass is not less than 2.5Kg. After being completely surrounded by fire for 2s, it will not burn and continue to melt.

3. It can support no less than 14.5Kg iron in fresh water for 24h.

4. The lifebuoy should have a certain strength, and should be able to be dropped into the water from the storage place to the height of the lightest sea line or 30m (whichever is greater) without being damaged.

5 Life buoys are generally painted in bright orange yellow, and have the name of the ship and the port of registry; ships on international voyages should also be marked with Chinese Pinyin.

Lifebuoy storage

1. The raw circle should be placed on both sides of the ship easily accessible, and there should be at least one stern.

2. It should be able to be taken off quickly, and it should not be restrained.

3. The storage location of the lifebuoy should be obvious and easy to access, and there should not be any other covering or blocking items around.

Lifebuoy custody

1. Always pay attention to whether the appearance is cracked, whether the handle is worn or moldy, and whether the buoyancy material is aged;

2. Repaint the paint when it falls off, and redraw in time if the signs are not clear;

3. The ring frame should be derusted and painted, and damaged should be repaired in time.
