On February 9, 2018, as the first self-driving vehicle closed test site in Beijing, the National Intelligent Vehicle and Smart Transportation (Gyeonggi) Demonstration Zone Haidian Base (hereinafter referred to as: Autopilot Closed Test Site (Haidian Base)) was unveiled. . Leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Beijing Economic and Information Commission, the Traffic Commission, and the Public Security Bureau of the Public Security Bureau attended the ceremony. Futian Automobile, Baidu, and Beiqi New Energy and other companies carried their own auto-driving models at Haidian Base.

The auto-driving closed test site that was launched this time is an important measure in response to the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Road Testing of Auto-driving Vehicles in Beijing (Trial)" and "Implementation Rules for the Implementation of Road Test Management for Self-driving Vehicles in Beijing (Trial)" . The development of two trial documents aims to promote the development and application of China's autonomous driving technology and improve the level of scientific and technological innovation in the transportation industry. Foton Motor actively participates in the automatic driving closure test.

At the test site, Fukuda's L3-class self-driving trucks performed well in cornering and safe operation. The car is equipped with many key technologies such as lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, traffic identification, adaptive cruise, etc. The driving vehicle can automatically realize pedestrian obstacle traffic sign recognition, automatic braking and automatic lane change overtaking. The excellent results indicate that Foton Motor has made sufficient technical reserves for the launch of “unmanned driving”.

In fact, it can be seen from Futian Automobile's “Futian Industry 4.0” strategic plan that Foton Motor has already begun to lay out the unmanned technology for commercial vehicles. As early as 2016, Foton Motor released the light truck autopilot technology and will expand the full range of super truck products. Foton Motor plans to focus on light-duty auto-driving technology in short-distance park logistics. The medium-card auto-driving technology focuses on the campus sanitation, and the heavy-duty auto-driving technology focuses on mines and ports. Through the research and development of autonomous driving technology, based on the research and reserve of current autonomous driving technology, the corresponding technical modules are gradually introduced into the application of Foton Super Truck 2.0 products and mass production models, especially the heavy trucks use more intelligent assisted driving functions. There will be huge positive social effects.

In the future, Foton Motor plans to lead the development of commercial vehicle autopilot technology by continuously investing in autopilot technology research and upgrading the core technology of autonomous driving.
