DuPont Packaging, a US materials manufacturer, has developed a new type of toughening agent specifically for polylactic acid (PLA) products. This new additive meets the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements for food contact applications. This emerging additive, Biomax Strong 120, improves toughness characteristics while minimizing the impact on transparency. This product is particularly used in the production of blister packaging.
